The Marco Polo Oriental Hotel’s buffet (8 Jianye Road, Siming District) has been a Xiamen institution for over 20 years, and in Xiamen “Marco Polo” is practically shorthand for its Napoleon pastry — the flaky, cream-layered signature that locals swear by and that here you can eat without limit. The spread runs to a hundred-plus dishes built around live cooking: steamed seafood (shrimp, mussels, oysters, scallops, clams and razor clams — pick what you like and it’s steamed on the spot), a Japanese sushi and sashimi station run by the chefs of the hotel’s Shogun Japanese restaurant (lunch sashimi is unlimited, per long-standing guest reports), a charcoal grill station doing meat the hearty way, a made-to-order noodle bar (noodles, rice noodles or rice cakes with your choice of broth and toppings), plus Chinese and Western hot and cold dishes, salads, puddings, cakes, yogurt and mousse. The café-style dining room runs an open kitchen, so the cooking happens in front of you.
The format is a 10-person voucher — and it can be split across visits, so a family doesn’t need to assemble ten people at once: bring six this Saturday, four the next. Every adult may bring one child under 1.2m free, which makes it a natural multi-family gathering ticket.
⚠️ Days and booking: lunch runs Wednesdays to Sundays (11:30–14:00); dinner runs Thursdays to Sundays (18:00–21:30). The dinner voucher can’t be used on Dec 24, 2026, and both vouchers pause during major hotel events and conferences. You must book by phone (0592-5091188) at least a day ahead, by 19:00 the day before — once a booking is confirmed it can’t be refunded, though unreserved vouchers refund anytime. Partially used vouchers can’t be refunded for the remaining uses, and the vouchers don’t apply to team/group banquets.

“Of all the hotel buffets I’ve tried in Xiamen, the Marco Polo is still my favorite — no contest. The dining environment, the variety, the hygiene, the service — all praiseworthy. My beloved desserts never change, especially the signature Napoleon and the red velvet. Absolutely worth it!” — 雪*** · Jun 2025
“The Marco Polo Oriental’s buffet has a great environment — clean and hygienic, good service! The dishes are fresh and tasty with lots of variety, especially the steamed seafood! Lunch sashimi is unlimited, and every guest gets a Buddha Jumps Over the Wall. My family and I love it — we come often!” — 香***】 · Apr 2024
“Everything was delicious. The famous Napoleon needs no recommendation, and the other dishes were great too. Special mention for Zheng Fushun, who recommended a special ‘Afu’ cinnamon ice-cream coffee — incredibly tasty and unusual. Warm, attentive service. We’ll be back, and I’ll be recommending it to people around me. Genuinely good.” — 159****4262 · Aug 2025
