Jingji Shengguang Hot Spring Resort is in Jizhou, the green north of Tianjin that Beijingers call their “back garden” — about a 2-hour drive from Beijing, near Mount Pan, the Great Wall and a ski park. The hotel has 267 rooms, including cartoon-themed family rooms; the deluxe rooms are about 50 m² with lake and mountain views and a big bathtub. Its centrepiece is the Changmingyuan Hot Spring, a jungle-style garden spring billed as a “northern Sanya”: 15 indoor pools plus 6 outdoor ones at 39–42 °C, with herbal baths and the local maifanshi (longevity-stone) filtered water. For kids there is a 1,100 m² indoor play park — naughty castle, DIY crafts, sandpit, trampoline, slides and a mini train — plus a 15 × 25 m indoor pool (28 °C for adults, 29 °C for kids) and a 1,000 m² Four Seasons Garden under a glass dome that stays warm through winter.
